The Artists:

Marjan Boonen, soprano

The singer:

Marjan Boonen studied voice at the Utrecht Conservatory,

followed up by private lessons with: Erna Spoorenberg, Henny Diemer,

Cristina Deutekom, Takako Hara and Zjenja McCray.

Momentarily she works with Pieter vd Berg.

She also particapated in several masterclasses:

Udo Reinemann, Bernard Kruysen,  Rudolf  Knoll (Mozarteum),

Jekatarina Jofel and Renata Scotto.

 She gave many recitals and concerts, amongst whom are concerts

with the Symphony Orchestra of Santiago (Chile) and Vidin (Bulgaria)

With the salon-orchestra "Wiener Melange" she performed operetta-aria's

and Viennese songs.

 She regularly concertises with different choirs as a soloist.

As an operaperformer, her favorite genre, she worked at the Nederlandse Opera,

De Vlaamse Opera, Opera Spanga en the Operahouses of  Frankfurt and Weikersheim

Songs and Lieder have also been a well loved genre.

She regularly gave recitals all over the country, some were organised by

her herself, and made recordings for radio and television.

In january 2004 she was Donna Elvira in a Don Giovanni-production

that toured in the Netherlands.

Since 1998 she regularly performs as the Diva in the comical operashow of

Opera della Casa  all over the Netherlands.

She also is part of the operashow “The Soprano Sisters”.

The actrice

Marjan Boonen had her professional acting-debut in Joop van den Ende's

 "The Sound of Music."She was housekeeper Frau Schmidt and Mother Abbess.

A unique experience

 

 

 

Lidwien Boumans

The pianist

Lidwien studied at the Utrecht Conservatory with Herman Uhlhorn.

Lieder and songs became her specialty, after graduating.

Big guides for her in that repertoire were Thom Bollen and Meinard Kraak

in Utrecht and Martin Isepp from the Britten-Pearsschool in England.

The latter taught her wat the essence of real musical communication is.

At the 2nd International Contest for Songaccompanists, she won the

"Best Dutch Duo" -prize, together with soprano Annelies van Gerven.

In Studio 32, an operatrainingcenter  founded by singingteacher

Henny Diemer, (Utrecht Conservatory) she accompanies young singers.

Furthermore she works with instrumentalists, works as an accompanist for

singing-masterclasses-and- contests, and choirs.

Next to that she also teaches piano at the Muziekschool Zeist

She made a theatrical song-show called "Dames"  (ladies) together with singer

Esther Putter and director Maarten Vonk, in which she was an acting and

singing pianist.

With her partner and pianist Marcel Schmidt she has a pianoduo called "Perquin"

 

The voice-actrice

Another way to express her musicality is via acting

To become a voice-actrice Lidwien Boumans followed a training

with Barnier Geerlings at IAM studios.

Her flexibel, multicoloured voice makes her suited for a wide range of characters:

from old ladies to cute little bunnies.

 

The singer/actress

Together with her partner/pianst and composer Marcel Schmidt,

 she writes and performs Dutch songs.
